Actual Costing in SAP without Material Ledger

Is it possible to get actual cost of our Product in SAP without getting into the complexity of Material Ledger Actual Costing???

The answer is Yes… so how to get it.

1. Identify the total materials into levels for example RM to SFG1 to SFG2 to SFG3 and so on up to FG.
2. First calculate the actual cost of SFG1 based on the production order booking of the actual cost at the month end.
3. Apply the actual cost of the SFG1 to SFG2 with own cost of SFG2.
4. Apply the actual cost of SFG2 to SFG3 with own cost of SFG3
5. In some cases, there are unplanned consumption of SFG1 to SFG3 as well, (not in BOM but actually consumed) in this case as well we have to consider the actual cost of SFG1 for SFG3
6. This process will go up to the final level of the product and get the actual cost of all the SFG levels and Final Finished Goods.
7. In this whole process the total actual cost computed from the SAP System will be reconciled with the Posted GL accounts and balances.
8. In this process we take care the Actual consumption of material cost + Actual Conversion cost in Production order to arrive at the level-by-level actual cost per unit.
9. No additional configurations or changes in system settings required for this calculation of actual costing.
10. Only the basic costing month end closing process should be in place (for example Allocation, Activity type price calculations, Revaluation and settlement of orders etc.)
